The Oswego Lions Club presents “Toots and Giggles†with headline comedian Jamie Lissow, Friday, January 15th at the American Foundry, 246 West Seneca Street, in Oswego. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.; show begins at 8:00 pm.
“We continue a Lions Club tradition once again this year with a great night of laughs,†said Bob Bateman, Oswego Lions Club President. “This event has always been a popular fund-raiser and we anticipate that this will be another great one.†To go along with our “Toots and Giggles†theme, we are asking anyone attending the event to donate any used musical instruments they may have cluttering their basement, attic, or garage. Any donated instruments will be used by students in the Oswego City School District. This community service project is an initiative of Oswego Lions club member Rick Olsen. Lion Rick discovered a great need for used musical instruments in the community from conversations with local music educators. The event is a major fund-raiser for the local service organization. This fund raiser helps to support ongoing programs and services throughout the Oswego community for the visually and hearing impaired. Proceeds from past fund-raising events have helped to support Make a Wish Foundation, Oswego Salvation Army, The ER’s Children Fund at Oswego Hospital, Oswego Library Capital Campaign, The Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, and Habitat for Humanity, to name just a few.
This year, the adult themed comedy night will show case Jamie Lissow. He has made appearances on “The Late Late Show,” NBC’s “Late Friday,”, “Star Search”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and taped a half-hour special this year for Comedy Central. Jamie now resides in Rochester, NY and can be heard mornings on “The Wease Show†Fox 95.1. He has also made over 50 appearances on Fox News Channel’s “Red Eye†and is still a recurring guest.  Jamie has been called, “The best writer since Seinfeld” and “Adam Sandler without the guitar.”
“The performances of Lissow and his Warm Up Comedian promise to bring the crowd a good hour of laughs,†said Chris Pelton, chairperson of the event. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event, or can be purchased prior to the show at the following locations: Cakes Galore and More, Maida’s Floral Shop, and Century 21 Leah’s, for $10.00. The Lions Club will provide complimentary appetizers, and a cash bar will also be available by the American Foundry. “We look forward to another great crowd and another wonderful event that benefits the many great causes the Oswego Lions Club supports,†said Lions Club President Bob Bateman.
The Lions Club has made available to local businesses an opportunity to purchase a table for their employees.
