PULASKI, NY – The Salmon River Fine Arts Center is inviting the public to attend their annual auction and fundraiser on Saturday, September 21st from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event will be held at the beautiful Kallet Theater located at 4842 Jefferson St. in Pulaski. There are over a hundred auction items including many unique items, gift baskets, gift certificates and services from local businesses, as well as original paintings, prints, pottery, and jewelry created and donated by local artists all to support keeping art available and accessible to everyone in the community.
Tickets for the event may be purchased in advance at the arts center during gallery hours or online for only $15. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $20 per person.

Complimentary food and live entertainment will be provided. There will be several artists set up in the room creating art that you can bid on that night. Featured artists include watercolor artist Craig Anderson, artist and designer Melinda Van Ry, cranky cat artist Cindy Schmidt and mixed media fine artists Rebecca Moshaty and Beth Sotherden.

There will be three different formats of bidding, silent bidding which closes at 8 pm, an exciting live auction led by auctioneer Jeff Gibbs will start at 7:00, and a raffle drawing will also be available for select items.

“We’ve got some amazing items coming in and we have many on display at the art center now, just because we don’t have a facility big enough to store them.” says volunteer member and auction Coordinator Sherry LaFlame. “Volunteers will transport all the items to the Kallet Theater and transform the room to create a beautiful event.”
Live music for the evening will be by singer-songwriter, guitarist, and luthier, Mark Wahl. Mark has been around the Oswego acoustic music scene for decades and has held various roles over the years including president and director for the Ontario Center for Performing Arts most often referred to as “the Oswego Music Hall”, a nonprofit venue on the shore of Lake Ontario promoting acoustic music.
“It’s much more than just a fundraiser, it’s a night out to enjoy live music, food and drink and an opportunity to mingle with friends and community minded folks.” says Ann Buchau, president of the art center. “It’s a really fun and important way to support this amazing nonprofit organization.”
As a nonprofit, the Salmon River Fine Arts Center depends on fundraisers like this to help cover operating expenses throughout the year so they can continue to provide discounted, free or pay what you can classes for people of all ages and backgrounds in the community as well as provide engaging art exhibits to inspire and support local artists.
