The Oswego Children’s Theater Presents a Second Weekend of “The Road to Oz.”

Starting Friday July, 31 The Oswego Children’s Theater will present a second weekend of their latest production “The Road to Oz”. The show is adapted from the fifth of fourteen books written about Oz by author, L. Frank Baum.

The story of play is set some time after the “Wizard of Oz”, with many characters from the original story as well as a number of new ones. The show features a large cast of area youth and adults, colorful costumes and sets, and a bright score of musical numbers, combined in a magical tale sure to please children of all ages.

“The Road to Oz” was adapted for the stage by Wayne Mosher Jr., who also wrote the music and lyrics The show is directed by Lyndsie Lee Jones with music director by Ken Jones. The stage manager is Kevin Murtha. Other staff includes Robert Larkin as technical director, Dianne Morrisette Accompanist, Aaron Callahan Light board Operator and Tammy Pospesel cast coordinator.

“The Road to Oz” second weekend will open on Friday July 31 and close with a matinee performance scheduled for Sunday August 2, at 2 p.m. Both performances will be presented at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall, located at 22 Munn Street in Oswego. OCT would like to thank the AOH for allowing them to perform “The Road to Oz” at their facility.

An Additional Performance of the show will be presented in the Persian Terrace Room, of the Hotel Syracuse, at the Fortieth Annual Munchkin Convention on Saturday August 1 at 3 p.m.
