Fulton Lions Host Joint Meeting With Oswego Lions Club, Dist. Gov. Kerry Brown Inducts New Members


The Fulton Lions Club recently hosted a joint meeting with the Oswego Lions Club and Lions 20-Y-1 District Governor Dr. Kerry Brown, said David Guyer, Fulton president.  Dr. Brown also inducted two new members into each club.

Oswego Lions President received the organization’s Melvin Jones Fellowship Award that evening from Oswego Lions Past President Karen Hammond. A Melvin Jones Fellowship is the highest honor that Lions International can bestow, Hammond said. This award recognizes a person’s commitment to humanitarian service.

The Fulton Lions Club hosts a number of annual events, such as the Labor Day Duck Derby and Lions Loot to raise funds for helping the visual and hearing impaired in the Greater Fulton community. In 2008-09, the club provided more than $9,000 in free eye exams, eyeglasses, and hearing aids, Guyer said.

    Is there any number to contact for xmas help in the Mexico Area? I called Catholic Charities for Thanksgiving and they said I wasn’t in there school district. The number they gave me at the Mexico church said no, they ended it that morning. I don’t need alot just maybe a turkey and a couple gifts for 2 of my boys that still live home. If there is anything you can help with, please email me. Thank you
