Fulton, NY – Golfers in the Tuesday night Ladies’ League recently held a Rally for the Cure Golf Tournament in support of OCO’s Cancer Services Program Partnership. Over the years the Cancer Services Program has provided hundreds of mammograms, breast exams, and breast ultrasounds for uninsured and under-insured women in Oswego County.
As a result, many women have received potentially life-saving treatment through the Cancer Services Program Partnership.
According to Carolyn Handville, coordinator of the Cancer Services Program, the golf tournament raised some much needed funds to help the program continue its mission of ensuring that individuals who are uninsured or underinsured receive the cancer screenings they need free of charge.
“It was heartwarming to see the compassion and concern that these individuals have for their community,” said Handville. “They truly understand the tremendous impact that the Cancer Services Program Partnership has on the lives of those it serves and the overall health of Oswego County. I extend my sincerest appreciation to all of the golfers who participated in the event and especially to Tina Bourgeois who organized the Rally for the Cure Golf Tournament, Linda Griffin, Paul Stepien, Autumn Harrington, Sue Reitz and Bob Bateman for their donations, and special thanks to Sonia Robinson for the generous donation of a Longenberger basket filled with treats. Their support is greatly appreciated!”
