Principal Dean Goewey welcomed the students, families, friends, administration and members of the Oswego City School District Board of Education to the special event.

Goewey reviewed the lengthy and colorful history of the Minetto Elementary School and its eventual merger with Oswego schools.

What followed was a very special event as former Oswego City School District Marching Bucs Director as well as veteran music teacher Bill Palange had written “The Minetto Union Composition” and the world premiere piece was played by the Minetto Elementary School Concert Band under the direction of Heather Sweeting.

The day was packed with celebratory events including a school wide ice cream social hosted by the Minetto Home and School Association as every youngster enjoyed ice cream from the local Stewart’s.

A fiftieth photo was taken that included the entire student body and staff.
