Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County Achieves National Quality Assurance


OSWEGO, NY – Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County, Inc. announced today (Sept. 4) that its Child Care & Development Council has attained Quality Assurance, establishing it as one of the nation’s leading Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs). The national recognition was awarded by Child Care Aware of America.

“We are extremely proud to have achieved Child Care Aware of America Quality Assurance, which identifies our agency as meeting the highest national standards for CCR&R quality,” said Christina Wilson, executive director of ICP. “Since 1986, we have been helping families in Oswego County recognize, find and pay for quality child care, and have been working with our community to identify child care needs and create solutions. This national seal of approval proves that we are succeeding.”

Child Care Aware of America Quality Assurance is a voluntary, national certification program for the field of Child Care Resource and Referral, including State Networks and local CCR&Rs. It is a rigorous and comprehensive validation process that enables CCR&Rs to meet Best Practices Criteria for delivering outstanding services to parents, providers, businesses and communities.

“ICPs’ Child Care & Development Council meets national standards for core competencies and services and has proven itself to be one of the best resources for parents seeking information about child care,” said Lynette M. Fraga, Ph.D., executive director of Child Care Aware of America. “ICPs’ achievement of Child Care Aware of America Quality Assurance solidifies its place as one of the top CCR&Rs in the nation.”

ICPs’ Child Care & Development Council is dedicated to promoting and supporting the development of quality, affordable and accessible child care services in Oswego County.

To accomplish this, we offer free services for child care providers, individuals interested in opening a child care program, and families searching for child care.

In 2012, the Child Care & Development Council provided over 300 referrals for child care to parents and training for more than 100 child care providers in Oswego County.
