‘Lights of Remembrance’ Memorial Tree Lighting Set in Mexico

The Friends of Oswego County Hospice will host its fourth annual “Lights of Remembrance” memorial tree lighting on Dec. 4 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Oswego County Federal Credit Union on Scenic Avenue in Mexico.

“The holiday season is a time for us to look back on the special people we’ve lost, that were part of our yearly celebrations. We hope that people can take some time out of their busy schedules to honor the memory of their loved ones,” said Deb Bishop, executive director of the Friends of Oswego County Hospice.

Oswego Middle School’s Con Brio chorus, under the direction of Paul Brewster, will perform holiday music at the tree lighting.

Light refreshments and snacks will be served.

Memorial ornaments for the remembrance tree are available now for purchase.

Those interested can choose from a locally made crochet star, a blue nylon beaded butterfly, or a Lenox Crystal gold angel.

Each ornament will bear the name of who it is in memory of.

Ornaments can be purchased from the Friends of Oswego County Hospice through Nov. 21.

They will also be available for purchase at the tree-lighting ceremony.

All monies raised through the ornament sale will help support Oswego County Hospice patients and their families.

The lighting is open to anyone who has lost loved one, not just individuals whose family and friends were Oswego County Hospice patients.

The tree will remain on display throughout the month of December.
