A Liverpool man faces a rape charge after police found him with a teenager at a rest stop in Palermo.
State Police allege a trooper pulled up behind a car parked at the rest area along Route 3 in the town of Palermo. The car’s lights were off.
The trooper checked the car and allegedly found Timothy J. Ritschel, 31, of 4819 Bear Rd., Bldg. 8, Apt. EG, Liverpool, in the back seat with a 14 year old girl. The trooper alleged that the pair was partially dressed and that they had had intercourse.
Ritschel was charged with rape, criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on bail of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
