LOOP AROUND THE LAKE 15K/5K Run and 5K Walk

Ready, Set, GO, and we’re off to the races! Are you looking for a local running race? Believe it or not, running in a race can be a lot of fun. Many races cater not only to highly competitive runners, but also to runners and walkers of a more casual mindset. So don’t let running or walking a race intimidate you – racing is a lot of fun, everyone should try it at least once.

The Fulton Family Y is gearing up for the Loop around the Lake event a 15K Run/5K Run and 5K Walk event. In addition to the Loop, the 2nd Annual Fidel’s Kids’ fun run will take place.

The Loops 15K /5K Run and 5K Walk will start at 8:30 am at the Fulton War Memorial and will travel through the city streets. The roads will not be shut down for this event, so we encourage runners and local traffic to be cautious of your surroundings.

Both events are USATF certified courses. A certified course is a road race course whose distance has been certified, through the USATF, for accuracy. Running a race on a certified course allows you to accurately compare your time to performances run on other certified courses because you can be sure the distances were the same.

This event is one step towards the Fulton YMCA’s process of helping to better improve the health and well being of those within our local community. If the Fulton YMCA encourages walking or running in an event such as this; we are hoping that the general public would catch the bug and make it part of their regular physical activity.

T-shirts will be available to the first 100 registered participants. Awards for the Loops 15K/5K Run and 5K Walk will go to the top three overall male and female 15K Runners 5K Runners and 5K Walkers. Medals will go to top three in each of the following age groups: 1-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+
