The nine members of the New York State Field Band Conference National Division will take to the field for the final competition of the season on Sunday, October 28 under the Syracuse University Carrier Dome.
Once again the Oswego High School Marching Bucs will be competing in the elite classification.
The Marching Bucs are one of the charter members of the NYSFBC and each year has well-represented the Oswego school and community with its crowd pleasing performances.
Oswego will take the field for competition at 7:56 p.m. and will be the third of nine bands competing that evening.
The National Division commences with Cicero-North Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. and the NorthStars will be followed by Norwalk, CT.
Oswego then takes to the field and will be followed in order by Webster, Victor, Arlington, West Genesee, Liverpool and Orchard Park.
Oswego is coming off a season high score of 85 at Central Square this past Saturday evening.
The Carrier Dome show is one of the most emotional of the year as it is the final time the band will take the field for competition.
The band will be led on to the field by drum major Cassandra Hondro and assistant drum major Julia Knight to present the 2012 program -“Thought Crimes: Music of an Orwellian Era.”
Oswego High School seniors making their last Marching Buc appearance include Brian Abbott, Joe Bertonneau, Danielle Benigno, Gabrielle Boni, Heather Carapetyan, Nicholas Cocks, Stephanie Cusyck, Seamus Darrow, Lisette DuFore, Carly Hewitt, Julie Knight, Kiersten Neacosia, Emilea Reinder, Grant Richmond, Deanna Santiago, Patty Talamo, Beau Todd and Liz Westcott.
Director Scott Ciesla has been quite proud of the dedication and hard work of this years’ edition of the Marching Buccaneers.
Ciesla has been highly impressed with not only the dedication and hard work of the band, but also the professioanal way that the students have represented the school and community throughout the year.
