Misericordia University Department of Sonography Recognizes Academic Accomplishments of Central Square Graduate

DALLAS TWP., Pa. – The Misericordia University Department of Diagnostic Medical Sonography recently recognized the academic accomplishments of its top graduating senior at the annual Awards Ceremony in Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall.

Danielle Owens of Central Square, New York, was awarded the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Academic Excellence Award.

The award is presented to the graduating senior in the full-time Bachelor of Science degree program, who has earned the highest overall grade point average reflective of both general education and sonography courses.

According to presenter Sheryl Goss, assistant professor and chair of the Department of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Owens excelled academically and in her clinical education at various local health care entities.

During the spring semester, she successfully completed the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography national credentialing specialty exams in both abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology, posting the highest scores of her graduating class in the two exams.

Owens was awarded her baccalaureate degree at the 93rd annual Misericordia University spring commencement ceremony on May 11 at the Anderson Sports and Health Center.
