FULTON – On May 15, at approximately 9 a.m., Fulton Police responded to the area of the 100 block of North Second Street regarding a motor vehicle accident.
On arrival Officers found 53-year-old Brenda Bouthillier of Mattydale had intentionally caused a motor vehicle accident involving one other vehicle, according to police.
It had been reported that Bouthillier operated a 2012 Chevrolet Impala around another vehicle by crossing the double solid lines and traveling towards on coming traffic forcing several uninvolved vehicles to pull to the side of the roadway.
Bouthillier then allegedly traveled back into the northbound lane in front of the vehicle she had initially passed.
She then abruptly applied the brakes causing the vehicle to strike the rear of her vehicle.
Furthermore, officers found that Bouthillier allegedly showed several signs of intoxication and she admitted that she had consumed alcohol the previous night.
Bouthillier was found to have a BAC of .17%, police said.
She was charged with the following:
Driving While Intoxicated- Misdemeanor
Driving While Intoxicated BAC >.08% – Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving – Misdemeanor
Refusal to Roadside Breath Test – Violation
Failed To Keep Right – Violation
Driving Left of Pavement Markings (no passing zone)- Violation
Bouthillier was arraigned in Fulton City Court by the Hon. Judge Hawthorne and ROR’d.
