UPDATE Jan. 19, 2021: In regards to the discrepancy between ConnextCare’s and Governor Andrew Cuomo’s reports on percentage of distributed vaccine, ConnextCare has responded to Oswego County Today’s inquiry with the following statement.
”ConnextCare has distributed 100% of the 1,600 initial vaccines received from the NYS Department of Health. We are working with the Governor’s office and the Health Department to correct the discrepancy in the reporting that was released during Governor Cuomo’s press conference on Monday, January 18,” said Karli Byrd, director of corporate relations. “We apologize for any confusion this has caused. ConnextCare looks forward to continuing to safely meet the community’s vaccination needs consistent with guidance from the New York State Department of Health, and as supplies allow.”
Cuomo’s report yesterday stated that ConnextCare in Pulaski and Fulton had the lowest rate of vaccine distribution in the Central New York area, saying that within the first four weeks of the vaccine being available to them, 28% (Pulaski) and 34% (Fulton) were distributed.

PULASKI, NY – Over the course of the past week ConnextCare has worked diligently to coordinate vaccination clinics across Oswego County to administer COVID-19 vaccines to eligible New Yorkers in phase 1a and 1b as outlined by the New York State Department of Health.
Beginning on January 13, ConnextCare held clinics for the Sandy Creek, APW, Mexico and Pulaski schools to vaccinate district staff members. Efforts continued through the weekend when vaccination clinics were held in the ConnextCare Pulaski and Oswego offices.
Through these efforts, ConnextCare was able to administer 100% of the initial vaccinations received from the New York State Department of Health.
“ConnextCare is proud to have reached its commitment of administering 100% of its initial 1,600 doses received. We successfully achieved this goal through the remarkable efforts of the staff across our network,” said Tricia Peter-Clark, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “I am grateful to the numerous ConnextCare employees who sacrificed family and off hour leisure time to dedicate overtime hours and effort in meeting unrelenting community demand. ConnextCare looks forward to continuing meeting community needs as future doses are received.”

According to Gov. Cuomo at todays news briefing (1/18/21) the percentage of allocated first dose administered vaccine at ConnextCare in Pulaski and Fulton is 28% and 34% respectively. Either the Governor is giving incorrect stats or ConnextCare isn’t being upfront when it comes to administered Covid 19 vaccine. He is now threating to reduce future allocations to those areas who fail in timely administration of the vaccine. There is a lot of people in our area, especially in the 1b phase group desperately trying to get vaccinated. We don’t need less vaccine, we need more. Who is giving the correct facts.
