COVID-19 Statistics Update, December 14, 2020

OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been 105 additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since Saturday.

New cases Sunday: 54

New cases today: 51

There are 556 active cases today.

SUNY Oswego reported no cases since Friday.

Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang said the county continues to investigate the discrepancies in the numbers of COVID-19-related deaths reported by the County and State Health Departments.

“The discrepancies are likely due to the information sources the County and State rely on,” Huang said. “We understand the public’s interest and concerns about this issue. We are working with the State DOH and regional hospitals, nursing homes and adult care facilities to develop a more efficient reporting process which maintains accuracy. We are looking to report our findings this week.”

Today’s statistics are below:

Oswego County: (as of 3 p.m.) Note, the total number of positive cases is cumulative since March and the number of recoveries and deaths are of those numbers. SUNY Oswego cases are included in the county numbers, however, the county tracks only those living in Oswego County. That means that students who chose to leave and go back to their home county and test positive there will be included on the college’s dashboard, but not the county’s. Their positive result would be reported to their home county, not here.

  • Total # of recoveries: 2,150 (Friday: 1,958)
  • Total # tests: 92,391 (Friday: 89,995)
  • Total # of negative results: 89,137 (Friday: 86,984)
  • Total # of people in mandatory isolation/quarantine: 1,348 (Friday: 1,324)
  • Total # of deaths: 6 (no change)
  • Total # of hospitalizations: 74 (as of Dec. 1)

101-150 confirmed cases: Granby, Schroeppel

151-200 confirmed cases: Hastings, Volney

201-250 confirmed cases: City of Fulton

251-300 confirmed cases: Oswego Town
