Fulton Teen Accused of Beating, Burning His Daughter

FULTON, NY – A Fulton teenager was jailed Wednesday in connection with allegations that he beat and burned his 18-month-old daughter.

Robby J. Guppy, 17, of 604 E. Broadway, upstairs apartment, was charged with a class-D felony count of second-degree assault, a class-A misdemeanor count of third-degree assault and two class-A misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Police said Guppy is accused of separate incidents against the toddler that allegedly took place Friday and Saturday. After the child would not stop crying, police said Guppy punched and slapped the girl on her face and body, causing bruising, swelling and pain.

Police said Guppy also intentionally burned the girl with a cigarette, causing second-degree burns to her left hand and left ear lobe.

Guppy was arraigned by Fulton City Court Judge Jerome Mirabito and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is slated to return to court Aug. 6.
