FULTON, NY – Paul E. Foster recently presented Linda Eagan with a check in support of the Fulton Block Builder (FBB) matching grant program.

“Foster Funeral Home has been watching the enthusiasm grow in the city and believes in trust, honesty and commitment to our community. FBB’s mission to Restore City Pride – One Block at a Time is a program Foster Funeral Home is proud to support,” said Foster.

“The official fund raising campaign has ended but the support for Fulton Block Builders remains strong,” said Eagan.

Other recent donations have come from Davis Standard – a global leader in high-performance plastic and rubber extrusion and converting systems and our local sporting goods retailer, B&T Sports.

The FBB Block Challenge is well under way for 2017, with 22 different neighborhoods committed to make exterior improvements and revitalize their properties.

The application process encouraged groups of neighbors to collaborate, build confidence in Fulton’s neighborhoods and inspire others to reinvest.

The independent scoring committee was quite impressed and supported matching-grant funding to 161 homeowners totaling nearly $140,000.

The remaining funds raised have been used to seed next year’s fund raising, purchase promotional materials and fund the fantastic Kick Off Event held on May 11th at River Vista in Fulton. Approximately 200 sponsors, volunteers and grantees attended.

Each awarded property owner in a Challenge Block will receive a dollar-for-dollar match on exterior improvements (approved in the application) up to $1,000.

If $500 is spent, a $250 match will be made. If $2,000 or more is spent the match will be $1,000 (minus taxes.)
