Eight Fulton Buildings Listed As Historic Places

FULTON – The eight buildings on West Broadway between W. 1st and W. 2nd Streets in the City of Fulton were listed in the State Register of Historic Places in September and in the National Register of Historic Places on December 1.

Being listed in the registry makes the buildings eligible for restoration grants and restoration tax credits.

“Fulton has a rich history and preserving these eight buildings will help tell our story to future generations. The Broadway Commercial District is a beautiful area of our city that is deserving of this recognition,” Mayor Deana Michaels said. “Now that their historic status has been approved, this opens doors to much-needed funding, grants and additional preservation support. And it will tie in nicely to the proposed Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects for the historical downtown area.”

  2. This is wonderful news….let’s make good use of the empty sites. No tatoo, hair salons, dollar stores….create real retail that can make West Side Commerical District a prosperous location and benefit Fulton’s future.
