Triple Fatal Accident on NYS Route 481

PHOENIX, NY – Multiple departments are currently responding to a fatal three-vehicle accident on New York State Route 481.

The accident is reportedly the result of one vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane resulting in a head-on collision involving three vehicles.

The accident was reportedly fatal for the driver of one vehicle as well as a front passenger and rear passenger of a separate vehicle.

Two others have been transported to Syracuse area hospitals via ambulance.

Phoenix Fire Department and Police Department were the initial dispatch to the scene and are being assisted by Caughdenoy Fire Department, Penneville Fire Department, Moyers Corners Fire Department and NYS Police.

NYS Route 481 will remain closed from NYS Route 264 southbound for a lengthy period of time as responders tend to the scene.
