FULTON – Last Tuesday’s Common Council meeting started with four public hearings
- Public Hearing relative to the amendment of Chapter 449, Parks and Recreation, in the City Code.
- Public Hearing relative to the amendment of Chapter 608, Vehicles and Traffic, in the City Code.
- Public Hearing relative to the amendment of Section C152(J), Housing maintenance; rental permits, in the City Code.
- Public Hearing relative to the amendment of Schedule A, Zoning District Rules and Regulations, in the City Code.
Councilor Sherman was in disagreement with the change to Section C150(J) and the Plannings board recommendation to change Schedule A, Zoning District Rules and Regulations.
At 17minutes, Ron Patrick spoke regarding the Zoning District Rules. Mr. Sherman feels the city is becoming to Strick and anti-business. While the voting on these two items was to close the public hearings only. Mr. Sherman voted no to closing the public hearing. The council did not vote on any of the public hearing items.
Later in the open comment period, the mayor seemed to lose control when citizens walked up to speak without signing up, As per Common council rules.
At 1 hour and 35 minutes: Sandy Roger’s spoke about the city’s website posting an event at a local cafe. She was offended and felt the city website should not be used to promote these events. A conversation ensued between Mrs. Rogers and Councilor Iorio that quickly desolved in an argument with the mayor calling to end it. Councilor Iorio’s last comment to Rogers was “I’ll see you on Facebook.”
