FULTON, NY – The Richard S. Shineman Foundation’s largest third round grant award was given to Fulton Block Builders for its 2018 Block Challenge program.
The grassroots organization in Fulton initiated a very successful 2017 Healthy Neighborhood revitalization program, modeled after the Oswego Renaissance Association’s highly successful project.
The $100,000 award is a matching grant payable in the spring of 2018 following completion of fundraising in Fulton.
The FBB Block Challenge is a neighborhood revitalization program that encourages groups of neighbors to collaborate on exterior improvements to their properties in order to build confidence in Fulton’s neighborhoods and inspire others to reinvest.
Each participating property owner in a Challenge Block is eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar match on exterior improvements up to $1,000.
