FULTON – With a primary coming next month in Fulton’s Fifth Ward, the Fulton Democratic Committee has unanimously endorsed Dennis Merlino for Common Council.

Citing Merlino’s long history as a volunteer for both the Democratic Party and the city of Fulton, Committee Chairman James Rice said that Merlino “stands above any challenger as the only candidate who will truly represent the party’s interests.”

Merlino has volunteered tirelessly for many Democratic candidates over the years, Rice said, in addition to serving on Fulton’s Ethics Board and Planning Commission, as well as supporting civic organizations like the Fulton Block Builders, Friends of Fulton Parks, the Fulton Public Library and many others.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by the Fulton Democratic Committee,” said Merlino. “For years, I have been working hard for this city and for the Democratic Party, and as councilor I will continue to put my time and energy into revitalizing the City of Fulton.”

With a degree in Business Administration and experience as a Pricing Coordinator at Tops Markets, Merlino says he will prioritize fiscal responsibility and will build on the momentum of Fulton’s community organizations to continue to grow and improve the city.

Merlino has also been endorsed by the Oswego County Democratic Committee as well as the United Food and Commercial Workers Local One.

He said he would be honored to have the support of Democratic voters in the primary.

Calling Merlino “the clear choice,” Rice called on Fifth Ward Democrats to “exercise your right to vote on Primary Day, Tuesday, September 12, and send Dennis Merlino on to the general election and the Fulton Common Council. He will represent our party, the Fifth Ward, and the entire city of Fulton with great integrity, boundless energy, and proven community spirit.”

  1. It’s an honor to have the unanimous support of the people I work with and who know me best. These are the people who know my love for Fulton and my work to revitalize Fulton.

I hope you will vote for me on Primary Day, September 12, and I hope you will again vote for in the General Election, November 7.

It’s Time for Fulton to Recover and Grow!
