Fulton Reaches Tentative Agreement with CSEA

FULTON, NY – Negotiations between the City of Fulton and the Civil Service Employee Association (CSEA) have come to an end as a tentative four-year contract has been unanimously approved by the Fulton Common Council.

Representing all city employees, the most recent contract between the city and the CSEA expired December 31, 2017.

In the tentative agreement, there is no retroactivity as city employees will see a 0.5 percent increase to their base salary effective October 22, 2018.

In the year 2019, city employees will see a one percent increase followed by a 1.5 percent increase for 2020 and 2021.

“That equals out to a four year average of 1.1 percent increase,” Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. said, an amount that he finds fair.

The contract was comparable to the most recent agreements made with the International Association of Fire Fighters representing Fulton Fire Department and the Police Benevolent Association representing Fulton Police Department, Woodward said.

Currently all city contracts are up to date. The current contract with Fulton Police Department will expire at the end of 2019, followed by the Fulton Fire Department expiring at the end of 2020 and finally, the CSEA expiring at the end of 2021.
