Last Chance to Mark Your Calendar, Parent University Coming to FJHS

FULTON, NY – The Fulton City School District and Fulton Community School send a final reminder to all parents and families in the Fulton community to attend the second annual Parent University being held Saturday (April 16) from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fulton Junior High School.

The event, including all activities throughout the day, transportation and food provided is free to all participants.

In it’s second year, Parent University is pleased to announce special guest speaker, Chick Moorman, a nationally recognized keynote speaker.

Moorman will begin his presentation at 9:45a.m., speaking on The 5 Commitments: Parenting with Purpose as well as presentations throughout the day on effective praise and eliminating bad behaviors.

Transportation is available for those who register ahead and breakfast and lunch will both be served to all those in attendance.

Children ages 4-12 can also attend and will be provided with supervised, age appropriate carnival activities.

Children will need to be signed in to their designated location by their parent(s).

The board of education will be available at the event and will hold a round table discussion during workshops 1 and 2 from 12 – 12:45 and 1 – 1:45.

During lunch from 11:15 a.m. – noon, children will be joined with their parents for the provided lunch as door prize drawings will be announced and musical entertainment will be provided by UPK singers and Fairgrieve Glee Club.

Workshops and open sessions will also be available on topics such as helping your child with math, understanding conflict and bullying: supporting safe, healthy children, academic goal setting, understanding graduation requirements in NYS, and technology tools to help your child at home.

Throughout the event, parents will also be able to register their children for UPK or Kindergarten with a valid birth certificate and proof of residency as well as browse through a community resource fair to visit community agencies and organizations.
