FULTON – Mayor Deana Michaels has appointed Matthew Smith of North 4th Street and a former Marine Corps Platoon Sergeant to the Codes Bureau.
“After interviewing a number of candidates, we felt that Matt was the best person to help move the Codes Bureau forward,” Michaels said. “Since I took office in January, Codes has been the priority. My goal continues to be enhancing the customer experience, updating policy and procedure, collaborating with other departments and cleaning up our city to make it the place people choose to live in, work in and visit. Matt brings the necessary skills and experience to the job to help us achieve these goals. I am excited to have him as part of our team.”
Smith has a background in systems management and efficiency. He is s eager to use the skills that he learned in the Marine Corps to help standardize procedures, increase efficiencies in the office by creating new policies and use his communication skills to share these policies with the community.
“I came to the Codes Bureau to help clean up the community in the best way possible,” Smith said. “I’m hoping to make it easier to do business on both sides of the counter while I’m here.”

Good luck matt….SEMPHER FI…..but why doesn’t the mayor answer my calls my complaints …nothing….wont even address the FLAW WITH THE VETERANS AGENCY….come on people …..why do we need a government like this anyhow….
I hope matt is faster than Donnie Patrick’s sprinkle park . He had to take down a beautiful tree, (that was quick)but still no sprinkler park. They got sharps pond vote quick but can’t hang swings and maintain a pool and park for the poorest neighborhood. Watch and see…they will put in new sidewalks and trees downtown. The list goes on and on. It will never change.
The New Games have begun.
Slow down people, give things a chance. The Mayor said she would focus on codes and enforcement and that’s what she’s done.
Where…show me …aint done nothing yet…lets her alderman give people the finger….thats appropriate…..its all b.s.
