FULTON –  Mayor Deana Michaels is urging people to “Stand Up and Be Counted” in the 2020 Census by creating a new committee aimed at encouraging residents to fill out their forms.

“The 2020 U.S. Census [count] is more important than ever. Answering the Census helps make sure our city gets its fair share of federal help for schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs and services,” Michaels said. “Many businesses use census data to determine where to build their factories, offices and stores. In order for Fulton to have a seat at the table we need to make sure that we have a complete count. In order to do that, I’ve created a Complete Count Committee.”

To help get the word out, the Complete Count Committee is made up of:

· Lowie Brooks: Fulton Community Development Agency Acting Executive Director
· Linda Eagan: Executive Director of Fulton Block Builders
· Patrick Waite: Deputy Executive Director of Oswego County Opportunities
· Brooks Wright: Greater Oswego Fulton Chamber of Commerce
· Doug Chapman: 2nd Ward Fulton City Common Council Member
· Laurie Smith: City of Fulton Personnel Director
· Dan Farfaglia: Former Oswego County Legislator

How can you fill out the form? You should have  received a form in the mail to fill out. It is quick and easy and has the postage on it.

If you did not receive a form, you can fill out the Census online at my2020census.gov and select the link that says “If you do not have a Census ID, click here.” Filling out the form online is quick and safe. You can also fill out the Census over the phone by calling 844-330-2020.

If you need additional assistance or do not have internet access, City of Fulton residents can make an appointment with the Fulton Community Development Agency at 315-593-7166. You can fill out the form at their office and the staff will be there to help you if you need it.

“Right now the response rate for the City of Fulton is 60%. That’s a great job Fulton, but we can do better,” Michaels said. “Please fill out the Census form as soon as possible so that Fulton will have a seat at the table.”

  1. If I fill one out will you hire animal control to get rid of these skunks now they are comming out during the day in the 4th ward we pay our taxes why dont you get on the ball and do something about this its in city limits its your problem

  2. because if the issues do not affect City Oficials or Council persons directly then NOTHING gets done. The skunks are a result of poor waste, garbage, refuse and weed/shelteer controls, accountability and enforcement of property conservation codes. It’s opportunity. Dont blame the skunks, blame the residents and your elected officials. Come on down to South Fourth st, Academy to Oneida looks like Detroit. Residents can’t even get into or out of their taxed driveways safely! We dont need steps, or riverwalks we need GRASSROOTS commitments to improve our neighborhoods and quality of life. Wake up city governement and read your own codes. We need to start somewhere,

  3. Like i said…schools are closed…the roads suck…the city owning a campground…buying up foreclosed homes….we are NOT A BANK….did you know elvis died…come out of your office and talk to the people…not your friends from the bank….THE REAL PEOPLE ……oh wait you cant…you will be busy thinking how to take away from the people…come see the music studio…last time im offering…next step is to rid her of her position…she DOES NOTHING…except b**** cause i call her out…dont need her there if shecant help us veterans….take the money marked for veterans and do whatever you need to do….just once i wish ALL THE VETERANS would get together and see how many lies can be said in a ten minute conversation???? Thanks for all you do ……..NOTHING GREAT JOB…
