There has been a steady stream of people coming to add to or visit the makeshift memorials mark the place where four men died Monday night.

Joey McCarthy of the town of Oswego was the driver of the car than ran off the road at high speed late Monday night.  The car flew into a tree, flipped over and landed on its roof.

His three passengers, all roommates from the Chateau West apartments in Fulton, were James Stone, Efrain Rodriguez, and Joshua Schute.

All four young men died sometime between the accident and the discovery of the crash scene the next morning.

Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd says high speed may have caused the crash.

There’s a cross in the ravine where the car was found.  It’s there not only to mark the spot of the crash but to allow people to write a message of sympathy.

Facebook posts from friends mention a memorial service at the crash scene, set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday. missing or outdated ad config
