Oswego Children’s Theater Offers Second Round Of Theater Makeup Classes

OSWEGO, NY – Have you ever wondered what you might look like when you grow older or as your favorite fantasy figure?

There is an exciting way to find out – the magic of theatrical makeup.

The Oswego Children’s Theater is offering to the general public a second series of theater makeup classes.

The first set of classes will cover Basic Stage Makeup and Aging techniques.

In this class you will become familiar with basic traditional makeup techniques and designs and the aging process through makeup.

In addition another class will be offered, featuring Clown and Fantasy Character Makeup.

This class will cover the different types of clown makeup, and also teach students how to transform themselves or others into fantasy creatures from fairies to superheros.

Additional classes will deal different types of with Animal Makeup,
and techniques for creating special effects such as scars, bruises and gore.

Amanda Mosher will teach all of the above mentioned classes.

Amanda is a licensed cosmetologist and certified makeup artist.

She received her makeup training in New York City at the LIBS Empire Beauty School for Makeup Artistry.

She is certified in fashion and glamour, basic character, monsters and clowns, and prosthetics.

Amanda has done makeup professionally for theater, film, and print.

The instruction will begin with a session of the Basic Stage and Aging Makeup class.

Dates for these classes are June 17, 19, 24 and 26.

Each of classes will consist of four sessions held from 6 to 9 p.m. each, for a total of 12 hours class time per course.

The Clown and Fantasy Makeup section will begin on June 23 and continue on June 25, 30, and July 1, also from 6 to 9 p. m.

Cost of the classes will be $60 plus a $15 material fee for each session.

The location of the class site will depend on the number of students
registering for the class.
