Village of Phoenix Police Chief Rod Carr died this morning, officials say.
He suffered a heart attack at home.
Carr began his career as a news anchor on what was then WNYS, Channel 9. He became spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department under then-Chief of Police Thomas Sardino.
Carr lived in Clay with his wife.
