A sharp-eyed State Trooper spotted the suspect in a Hannibal robbery as the suspect passed by in a car the next day.
Police allege that Robert D. Gioia, 22, no address given went into a home at Lot 23, 393 Rathburn Rd., Hannibal on Friday afternoon and stole a purse and handbag that allegedly contained credit cards and about $500 cash.
The victim alleged to police that Gioia struggled with the woman and shoved her onto a couch.
He then ran off into the woods.
Saturday, Trooper Alex Kurilovitch was on State Route 3 in Granby when he looked at the people in an oncoming car and recognized Gioia.
Gioia was charged with felony robbery and burglary and marijuana possession.
He was sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on bail of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
