Pulaski To Compete For Title: Best Tasting Water In NY

OSWEGO COUNTY, NY – An Oswego County municipality is heading to the New York State Fair next week to compete against other winning municipalities for having the best tasting drinking water in the state.

“It is with heavy heart that I present Natalie Roy,” legislator Jack Proud joked during last week‘s Oswego County Legislature meeting.

Proud explained that there is strict competition between the villages of Pulaski and Mexico each year for award for the best tasting drinking water in Oswego County. This year, Pulaski came out on top.

The 18th annual competition was held July 5 at the Oswego County Fairgrounds. Roy explained that 138 people tasted six samples of water this year.

“All municipal water suppliers are eligible to enter,” she noted.

Each person who tasted the samples as asked to vote on their choice for the best and second best tasting water.

“The village of Pulaski won this year,” she said. In the second leg of the contest, Roy noted that Pulaski also won the regional taste test.

“Now, they are on to the State Fair on Aug. 26 to compete for the best tasting drinking water in New York state,” Roy noted.

Pulaski Village Mayor Ernest Wheeler accepted the award from the county.

“We have great water in Pulaski,” Wheeler said. “Drink up.” missing or outdated ad config
