The Fulton Memorial Day Salute Committee Staging The Watch Fire

FULTON – The Fulton Memorial Day Salute Committee will be holding a Watch Fire as part of this year’s Memorial Day Salute, on Saturday, May 25, at 7:00 p.m.

The event will be held at Recreation Park, immediately to the south of Denesha Field.  Watch fire offers an opportunity to respectfully and honorably dispose of used or damaged U.S. flags.

The Mohawk 60 for 60 run, the local veteran’s community, and the Fulton Fire Department will be assisting with this year’s event.  Pictured are members of the Memorial Day Salute Committee, local veterans, fire department, and community volunteers decorating pallets for this year’s fire.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  This year’s salute will be held on Friday, May 24, and Saturday, May 25, at the Fulton Community Center.

The theme for the celebration will be “HONOR AND REMEMBER.” The event also features the traditional Saturday morning parade, rides, food vendors, entertainment, a dunk tank, a 5k run, and fireworks. The Memorial Day Salute is a cooperative effort of Fulton’s service clubs, the Kiwanis, Lions, Noon and Sunrise Rotary Clubs, and the local veteran’s community. Further information is available on the salute’s Facebook page under “Fulton Memorial Day Salute.”
