Officials expect several thousand people from around the state at Thursday afternoon’s calling hours for Trooper Amanda Anna in Fulton.
As a result, extraordinary measures are being taken to help manage the massive crowd that is expected at Foster Funeral Home.
Anna, 31, of Liverpool, died last week when her State Police SUV rolled over on a road in the town of Hastings. The Hannibal High School graduate left behind a fiance and a four year old child from her first marriage.
Officials say that Fay St., the road that leads to Foster Funeral Home, will become a one-way street for the day. The portion of the street that runs in front of the funeral home will be shut down so the huge crowd can line up safely. Fay St. will be detoured through the U-shaped parking area that wraps around the funeral home.
Parking for the calling hours will be several blocks away from the funeral home, at the large parking lot of the former Nestle chocolate factory.
The 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. calling hours are expected to draw a huge response from the emergency services community, with police, fire and emergency medical personnel coming from around the state to pay respects to the Trooper who died in the line of duty.
Anna’s funeral Friday takes place at North Syracuse Baptist Church and will be telecast live on local TV. Her burial in Springbrook Cemetery in Sterling is private.
