Woman Accused of Using Welfare Money to Buy Dead Husband’s Prescriptions

Fulton police helped with the arrest of a woman in Onondaga County on charges of filling her dead husband’s prescriptions.

Lisa Marie Senska, 37, of Cicero was charged with three felonies — criminal possession of a controlled substance, grand larceny and welfare fraud.  She was also charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a public benefit card.

Police allege that Senska’s husband, Robert, died April 25, 2009.  Three days later, police believe Senska used a state public benefit card to fill three prescriptions for controlled substances.  Those prescription drugs would have cost $2,892.31 otherwise.

Fulton Police were involved because the doctor who wrote the initial prescriptions is based in Fulton.
