Legislature Hosts Government Day

Oswego County’s annual Government Day Program gives seventh-grade students the chance to spend a day with their legislator and gain insight into how local government operates and serves the community. On May 14, students took part in a mock debate, toured county facilities and learned about county programs and services. They also attended and participated in a full Legislature meeting. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County offers the Government Day program in partnership with Oswego County. To mark the occasion, the Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented a proclamation to the agency.
