One Dead, One Injured In West Monroe Snowmobile Crash

West Monroe, NY – State Police is investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occurred on a snowmobile trail near Depot Road in the town of West Monroe, Oswego County.

On December 18, 2020, at 9:38 p.m., State Police responded to a reported snowmobile crash in the area of Depot Road and State Route 49 in the town of West Monroe.

The investigation had revealed Justin L. Digregorio, age 20 from Clay, New York, was riding along the trail when he noticed a tree across the trail and attempted to turn his snowmobile to avoid it. Digregorio states after he struck the tree, he got up and noticed his friend, who was traveling behind him, lying down on the trail. Digregorio ran over and noticed Antonio not breathing. Digregorio contacted 911 and started CPR.

Antonio M. Curtis, age 23 from Oneida, New York, was ejected from the snowmobile and transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Digregorio was transported to Upstate University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
