Arrest Made In MVA

Oswego City Police have made an arrest as a result of the investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on September 28 at approximately 2:50 a.m. in the area of West First and Bridge streets.

Joseph E. Weigand, 49, of 79 E. Sixth St. Room #5, Oswego, was arrested and charged with the following:

Attempted Assault in the First Degree – Class C Felony

Assault in the Second Degree – Class D Felony

Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree – Class D Felony

Felony Driving While Intoxicated- Class E Felony

Operating While Registration Suspended / Revoked- Unclassified Misdemeanor

Reckless Driving- Unclassified Misdemeanor

Leaving Scene of a Personal Injury Accident – Unclassified Misdemeanor

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Unclassified Misdemeanor
Failed to Keep Right- Traffic Infraction

Passed Red Signal- Traffic Infraction

Weigand was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 Secured Bail Bond.

Weigand has a return court date of October 2 at 9:30 a.m.  in Oswego City Court.

As of this time all the persons that were injured as a result of this incident have been released from the hospital.
