Authorities Still Trying To ID Body

OSWEGO, NY – The investigation into the identity of the body found in Lake Ontario Saturday afternoon is still on-going.

Oswego Police continue to work with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office to determine the identity of the adult male body.

“It is too early to speculate on the cause of the man’s death,” said Police Chief Mike Dehm. “But, based on the preliminary evaluation at the scene, it doesn’t appear that the male suffered from any obvious wounds or injuries that would be indicative of a physical altercation or foul play. We will conduct our investigation thoroughly until the identity and cause can be definitively determined.”
