OSWEGO, NY – On Thursday, July 28, one of the largest free-admission music festivals in the nation will gain a very special visitor.
Rock legends Blues Traveler will appear on the NRG Lakeview Stage at 9:15 p.m., courtesy of C&S Companies and Cayuga Community College.
Blues Traveler was formed in 1987, and since then has tirelessly changed the face of music.
Their ever-evolving sound has enchanted listeners for nearly 30 years, and provided the musical soundtrack to multiple generations. Their most recent studio album, Blow Up the Moon, was released last year to critical acclaim and showed a unique collaborative approach to music that proves the band’s credentials as rock innovators.
Harborfest Executive Director Peter Myles said, “Blues Traveler is an incredible band to have launch this year’s festivities. I would like to thank our sponsors, C&S Companies, and Cayuga Community College, because without their support, this wouldn’t be possible.”
“This is one of several major announcements and festivalgoers this year are going to be really excited with what we have planned for our 29th Harborfest. This year, we have many acts and events, and we have something truly special for everyone from Thursday right until Sunday evening,” he added.
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country.
It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego.
It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the city of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities, and individuals and family members.
