OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature will be holding a grand opening & ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of Oswego County’s Camp Hollis Shoreline Stabilization project on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., Camp Hollis, 40 Health Camp Rd., Oswego, NY 13126.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau Received $500,000 of funding through the New York State Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative ( REDI) to prevent further erosion of the Camp Hollis Shoreline.

“The goal of the Shoreline Stabilization project at Camp Hollis is to maintain, sustain and protect our Lake Ontario shoreline and our facilities from various weather patterns. As you know, Oswego County is known for its harsh winters and high winds. Severe storms on the Lake Ontario shoreline have caused erosion to the bluffs along Camp Hollis, in which the shoreline stabilization project has addressed these issues” said, James Weatherup, Chairman of Oswego County Legislature.

Oswego City-County Youth Bureau Executive Director, Brian Chetney said, “This project is imperative to the future infrastructure and sustainability of Camp Hollis. The $500,000 in funding from New York State REDI program will ensure our youth and community can continue to enjoy our facilities”.
