Eastside Oswego Man Facing Felony Assault Charges

OSWEGO, NY – At approximately 1:52 a.m. today (March 29), Oswego Police responded to the area of 89 E. Fifth St. for a reported fight in progress.

Upon arrival, police located an adult, male, victim who was conscious, but suffering from face and head injuries.

The victim was subsequently transported by Oswego Ambulance to University Hospital, Syracuse.

Police identified and located the suspect. And, at approximately 2:53 a.m. police arrested 31-year-old Juan J. Figueroa of 89 E. Fifth St.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the defendant allegedly struck the 22-year-old male victim in the head with a metal bat.

Figueroa was charged with first-degree assault (B felony) and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (D felony).

At this time, Figueroa remains at the Oswego City Police Department awaiting arraignment and the victim remains at University Hospital for treatment of his injuries including a fractured jaw and a head laceration.

  1. Why most there be so much hate, the victum was my friend for a long time, and would never do ANYTHING to deserve that.
