Elderly Oswego Woman Charged With Murdering Her Husband

On March 19, 2010 at about 5:00 pm, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were sent to 128 Tug Hill Road in the Town of Oswego for a reported shooting.

The residence is the home of 69 year old Joyce Malone and her husband, 74 year old Ralph Malone.

Investigators report that Ralph Malone was found deceased inside the residence from an apparent gunshot wound.

His wife has been charged with murder in the second degree, a class A-1 felony.

Joyce Malone was arraigned in the Town of Oswego Court by Judge Michael Sterio. She was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility with no bail.

The exact cause of death and a possible motive are still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Oswego County Coroner’s Office. Oswego Town Fire Department and Oswego City Ambulance assisted at the scene.

  1. Joyce Malone should have reached out to her daughter Brenda Eddy & son inlaw John Eddy for help to get away from her marriage to Ralph or she could have called
    social services or Adult protective services for help with her emotional disturbed abused life that she lived with for 50 years. That would have been better than killing Ralph her own husband. Now she has to pay for the suffer by spending time in prison for the terrible crime that she committed. Emotional abuse & physical abuse are about the same but physical abuse is worse.
