OSWEGO – Mayor Robert Corradino spoke about Linda DeMassi, former council of the 2nd ward of Oswego. “She was a great person on the council; she was always taking care of constitute needs, and she was a great partner to us on the council. She was always upbeat, looking to solve problems and not create problems,” said Corradino, “certainly, she will be missed, not only by the City of Oswego but her family.” Corradino then led a moment of silence to her at the end of the meeting.
There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center.
The council passed a grant of $50,000 for the Oswego Police. This is the second grant the police station has received from Senator Mannion, according to Police Chief Phillip Cady. They have also received money from the Shineman Foundation. The funding will support the Oswego Police-embedded mental health clinical program. The grant will be used to be paid to the staff clinician.
Other noteworthy actions taken at the meeting are listed below.
• Lowe’s Home Center LLC made a $2,513 to the Department of Public Works.
• The City Chamberlain Deborah Code requested a budget amendment to the central printing and mailing account for $20,000 for postage.
• According to Mayor Robert Corradino, about $5,000 will be allocated to the lead service replacement program.
