OSWEGO – Fort Ontario State Historic Site will host the Fort Ontario Dance-Off 2016 beginning at noon March 26.
The event will be filmed as part of an online museum-themed video competition.
All members of the community are welcome to participate.
Participants are encouraged to wear historical clothing if they have it, but otherwise should dress comfortably in clothes they can move in and comfortable shoes.
Refreshments will be provided.
The event will last for two hours.
Fort Ontario intern Rachel Ruller is coordinating the event to create community involvement with the fort as well as bring the fort to the international museum scene via the online competition through whenyouworkatamuseum.com, which has historically seen competitors from around the world – from the USA to Australia to Mongolia and the United Kingdom.
Fort Ontario State Historic Site is located at the north end of East Fourth Street in the city of Oswego.
The event is free and open to everyone and there is plenty of free parking available in the main parking lot.
