OSWEGO, NY – Freezin’ for a Reason! Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon took the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics and now it’s Oswego’s turn.
More than 100 participants are signed up for the second annual Plunge for Special Olympics New York and will take an icy dip into Ontario Lake on Saturday in support of local area Special Olympics athletes.

Sergeant Jim Cunningham, officers Lysa Dolin, Bryan Thompson and Kevin Engle of the Oswego Police Department will lead the plunge carrying the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics “Flame of Hope.”
Top fundraiser Cindy Tyler of Antwerp and team Jumping for Jake will lead the plunge in honor of Jake Tyler.
Oswego’s Polar Plunge is set at Wright’s Landing, 21 Lake St.
Registration and check-in from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with the Plunge at 1 p.m.
A chicken BBQ will be held at Gibby’s Irish Pub 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Coffeee and hot chocolate for registered Polar Plungers provided by Dunkin’ Donuts
Great Polar Plunge and Special Olympics merchandise will be for sale.

Participants can also register the day of the plunge, just bring collected cash and checks with you.
All participants raising $100+ receive a free official Polar Plunge sweatshirt.
