OSWEGO, NY – Coming to Oswego for one night only, the world famous Harlem Wizards will help the Oswego High School Marching Band raise funds for their trip to the Citrus Bowl Parade in Orlando, Florida in December.
On Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Powers Gym at Leighton School, the Oswego Highs School Band Parents will present the Harlem Wizards versus the “Buccaneer All Stars.â€ÂÂ
A courageous combination of teachers, administrators, parents and community members will battle against the Wizards.
Scheduled to play are David Fischer, superintendent of schools; Charles Riley Elementary School Principal Randy Richards, teachers including Bill Palange, Steve Defren and Brian Hartwell from Oswego High School; Ted Beers and Deb Lavner from Leighton School; marching band staff members Mike Tierney, Paul McPherson and Brian Walls; as well as parents and community members.
The Wizards have entertained from New York to Beijing.
These world class athletes and entertainers roll between comedy routines and serious basketball with championship ease.
They delight fans with trick shots, slam dunks and on court antics.
The team’s mission is to create a joyous, breathtaking basketball adventure for everyone.
As an organization, the Wizards have played more than 6,000 games in the United States and abroad with a current winning streak exceeding 3,000 games and miles of smiles.
More than 20 NBA players and college greats have dotted the Wizards roster along with street ball legends, ex-Globetrotters, and stars of the Nike Freestyle Commercials.
Current Wizard Chris “Handles†Franklin is one of the greatest trick dribblers around.

The heart of their popularity is their bond with fans and the guarantee of wholesome family entertainment that never rests on reputation.
It is amazing to watch the consistent combination of basketball and trick-hops intensity, showmanship, enthusiasm, teamwork and coordinated effort that the players exhibit every game.
Special guest referee Anthony Joseph, retired music teacher, will try to keep the action moving and under control.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale for $8 for students (K-12) and $10 for adults.
Day of game tickets will be $10 for students (K-12) and $12 for adults.
