OSWEGO – Mayor Rob Corradino announced today he is proposing a $750,000 paving plan for the City of Oswego this Spring, adding to the $8 million of paving completed since 2016. The proposed paving plan includes the east side of the city, as well as the west side.
Mayor Corradino’s proposed 2024 paving plan includes:
- Ontario Street – From Cayuga Street to Schuyler Street
- East Seneca Street – From East 9th to the bridge
- East Schuyler Street – From East 5th to East 10th
- East Van Buren – From East 9th to East 12th
- East 11th – From Seneca to Schuyler Street
- Arabel Street
- Mary Street
- Turrill Street
- East 12th – From Mohawk Street to 104
- Shampine Drive
- East 9th Street – From Lawerence Street to Utica Street
- Herrick Street – From Erie Street to Utica Street
- Niagara Street – From 6th to 9th
- West 7th – From Albany Street to Erie Street
- Cook Street
- Cherry Street – From East Ave to Hamilton Street
- Walnut Street – From Albany Street to East Ave
- Hamilton Street – From Cherry Street to East 9th
- Burden Drive – from West First street to Munn Street
- Prospect Street
- Miller Street
In addition to this, the West First Street Reconstruction projection from West Utica Street to Murray Street will begin in the Fall. In 2023, the city was awarded a 2.5-million-dollar grant through New York State to pave this stretch of road. This project will be a two-season project, beginning in the Fall and finishing in the Spring. This will be a total reconstruction including storm sewers, water pipes and new curbs and pedestrian crossing. “Once again this year we will maximize our CHIPS funding and use the allotted funding to pave some of the worst streets in the city. Recovering and repairing our infrastructure continues to be a major focus for city government.”
Common Council will deliberate the selected streets and proposed funding during a future Administrative Services committee meeting at City Hall.
