Mexico Woman Facing Welfare Fraud Charges

OSWEGO, NY – On 3/28/12 at 3:05 p.m., Mary J. Stone, 51, of Fraser Road, Bldg. 138, Mexico, was arrested for Grand Larceny, 3rd degree, a class D felony, Welfare Fraud, 3rd degree, a class D felony and Offering a False Instrument for Filing, 1st degree, a class E felony.

The charges stem from the investigation into an incident in which she allegedly obtained food stamps and Medicaid benefits over $16,000 while not reporting incomes received.

Stone was arraigned by Hon. Judge Hafner in Oswego County Court.

She was ROR’d and is to appear in Mexico Town Court on April 3.
