OSWEGO, NY – Operators returned Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 to full power at 11:36 a.m. today (September 9) following repairs to an electrical component that regulates water level during normal operation.
The unit automatically shut down on Wednesday and operators returned it to service Friday, September 8.
The Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station is located seven miles northeast of Oswego and 50 miles north of Syracuse.
The station can produce more than 1,937 megawatts of carbon-free electricity – enough to power nearly two million homes.
