OCSD Board Of Education Appoints New District Staff Administrators

OSWEGO, NY – In a very brief meeting held on the evening of August 1, 2023, the Oswego City School District Board of Education announced the addition of several new administrators to the district’s staff.


Tracy Eygnor will take the role of principal at Charles E. Riley Elementary and Dr. Raina Hinman will be the new principal at the Oswego High School. In the student services department, Jacklyn Beck will begin her tenure as director, and Sean Morgan will take on the role of Director of Data and Accountability.

In a congratulatory note, Acting Superintendent Amanda Caldwell announced that the New York State Public High School Athletic Association has named Oswego High School  a ”School of Excellence,” meaning that 75% or more of the school’s athletic teams were named as Scholar Athlete teams. Caldwell also announced that the upcoming school year is just one month away from commencing, with the first day of school for students being September 6, 2023.

All items on the Consent Agenda passed unanimously. All items on the First Reading of School Policy passed unanimously. Under the Personnel Agenda, Director Robert Siracuse announced the upcoming retirement of Dean of Students Penny Morley. Morley’s retirement is effective July 8, 2024.

  1. So rumor has it this board is going to do the same thing with the superintendent as the last board. No local candidate in the final two interviews and not looking to have the person move here. So you ran on brining in someone who wanted to be a part of the community and now have reversed course? I guess the saying is true…if you don’t learn from the past you are destined to repeat it. So that means hire a new person, have them stay 2.5 years, mess up even more stuff, no desire to be a part of the community that pays their salary and then gone or retired.
